Participants will apply linear and nonlinear, static and dynamic analysis methods to evaluate structural behavior and support detailed building design. ETABS will be used as the computational analysis tool for practical modelling, analysis and interpretation exercises. The course also provides an overview of modelling considerations for Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) systems and the application of seismic loading requirements in accordance with Eurocode 8 (EC8).\n\n\n	COURSE OUTLINE \n\n\n	\n\n\n	i. ETABS advanced features\n\n\n	• Overview of ETABS advanced analysis and design capabilities\n• Advanced analysis examples:\n  i) Nonlinear analysis of a Steel Frame Structure\n  ii) Dynamic vibration analysis for a Pedestrian bridge\n• Performance Based Design overview\n\n\n	ii. Overview of FE Method (FEM)\n\n\n	• FEM objects used in ETABS\n• Understanding elements forces and stresses \n• Meshing of finite elements\n• Proper use of Constraints\n\n\n	iii. Proper modeling of building system\n\n\n	• Elements stiffness with stiffness modifiers for cracks\n• Use of Rigid diaphragm\n• Modal analysis for building response\n• P-delta analysis\n• Modeling for imperfections\n\n\n\n	iv. Advance Modeling Techniques\n\n\n	• Virtual works diagram to optimize building performance\n• Sequential construction analysis\n• Modeling with flexible foundation\n• Direct Analysis Method (DAM) for steel framed structures\n\n\n	v. Modeling for PPVC Building\n\n\n	• Overview of PPVC modelling concepts  \n• Modelling of PPVC connecting components \n• Modelling of composite PPVC elements\n• Global vs Part model for PPVC elements design\n\n\n\n	vi.
