INTRODUCTION
Modern structural design requires engineers to move efficiently from global analysis models to detailed verification of steel connections and complex RC elements. This 4-hour technical workshop introduces practical workflows using ETABS/ SAP2000, IDEA StatiCa, and ChatGPT-assisted scripting to connect analysis models, automate repetitive tasks, and improve design confidence, traceability, and documentation.

- Direct Analysis Method (DAM) for steel frame analysis and design
- Modelling second-order effects, stability, and frame behaviour
- Concept illustration using a 2D frame with CSi ETABS/SAP2000 and IDEA StatiCa
Session 3: Connected Workflow and AI-Assisted Automation
- From global FEA models to detailed connection design with Checkbot (BIM Link)
- 3D steel frame example with steel-to-steel and steel-to-concrete connections
- Stiffness classification and modelling of semi-rigid frame connections
- Practical examples of ChatGPT-assisted scripting for connection optimisation.
Session 4: Detailed RC elements code-checked with CSFM
- Code check of RC wall and RC beam with openings
- Local check for inverted T-beam with nibs supporting secondary beams
- Advanced numerical check to confirm design correctness and design adequacy.
