AI-Assisted Workflows for Steel and RC Design & Verification

INTRODUCTION

Modern structural design requires engineers to move efficiently from global analysis models to detailed verification of steel connections and complex RC elements. This 4-hour technical workshop introduces practical workflows using ETABS/ SAP2000, IDEA StatiCa, and ChatGPT-assisted scripting to connect analysis models, automate repetitive tasks, and improve design confidence, traceability, and documentation.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • Structural engineers involved in Steel and RC structural design including steel connections and RC detailing code check.
  • Engineers and consultants using Global FEA software like ETABS, SAP2000 and having problems performing connections design and RTC detailing check.
  • Senior engineers, design managers, and teams seeking more efficient workflows from global analysis to detailed verification.

4-HOUR WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

By the end of this workshop, engineers will be able to:

  • By the end of this workshop, engineers will be able to:
  • Understand practical applications of FEM, CBFEM, and CSFM in structural design
  • Apply DAM concepts for modern steel frame analysis and design
  • Link ETABS/SAP2000 global analysis results to detailed steel connection checks
  • Understand how to optimize Steel framing with semi-rigid connections and tension-only bracing.
  • Explore ChatGPT-assisted scripting to support repetitive tasks, automation, and documentation.
